Finally! - After much planning and chaos we have finally arrived in Rio. Just to get on the plane felt like a weight off. The past week or so was manic. Arriving here was strange, passport & immigration took 1hr but no real hassle and didn't need our proof of onward flight out of Brazil - they seemed happy for us to stay! Our pick up to the hostel didn't show but a (very) friendly fellow in the airport offered to take us to our hostel. A little reluctant we accepted. The drive was something like a computer game. Drivers in Rio are crazy. The hostel was great. Really cool arty bohemian type of place. We arrived around 10pm. Both in the same mixed sex dorm. Costs around £14 per night each. Hardly expensive! Slept in a room with a dutch graffiti artist. Here on erm...business. Cans of spray paint all over the floor. Said it was arty...
